MARTYRS REMEMBERED ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE ÇANAKALLE VICTORY

Our Mayor Avni Kurt attended the ceremony held at Cumhuriyet Square on the occasion of the March 18 Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs' Memorial Day.

Our Mayor Avni Kurt laid a wreath in front of the Atatürk monument at the ceremony attended by Çınarcık District Governor Mr. Oğuzhan Erdi Atak and the district protocol.

After the ceremony, the district protocol visited the martyrs' graves in the village cemetery. The protocol, who read prayers at the graves of the martyrs, later participated in the program held at Gülkent Primary/Secondary School.

Speaking on the anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, our Mayor Avni Kurt said, “This meaningful day, when we respectfully commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and our martyrs who sacrificed themselves for our heavenly homeland, and pray for them, was a day when we felt national and spiritual feelings intensely. We should not pass over the ground we step on by calling it ‘soil’, and we should never forget the thousands of shrouded people lying beneath it. May the souls of our precious martyrs rest in peace. I once again celebrate the anniversary of the Great Victory, and remember our heroic martyrs with respect, mercy and gratitude.”
