BEING DISABLED IS NOT AN OBSTACLE TO DOING SPORTS
Çınarcık Municipality, which has built disabled parking spaces at certain points in the city in the past months, has introduced a new application for the disabled.
The application, initiated by Çınarcık Mayor Avni Kurt on 3 December World Disability Day, includes providing sports services to the disabled free of charge.
The first sports event within the scope of the project took place in the indoor sports hall of Hüdaverdi Aydın Primary School in the district.
The event, where colourful moments were experienced, consisted of sportive actions based on fine motor movements, gross motor movements, hand-arm coordination and focusing skills that contribute to the cognitive, sensory and psychomotor development of the disabled.
Zumba accompanied by music, parkour exercises accompanied by educational games and group activities took place under the control and coordination of Çınarcık Municipality Press and Public Relations Directorate personnel.
The activities, which will take place free of charge once a week, aim to include disabled people at risk of social exclusion into social life and to make them look at life with a smile through sports.
